French-American jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux delivers highly personal interpretations of jazz standards, blues and original works, infused with a captivating mélange of folk, country and gospel.
Her meteoric rise from busking in Paris’s Latin Quarter as a teenager, to the global success of her second solo album Careless Love in 2004, has seen Peyroux gather a broad family of devotees, providing an enticing entrance into the world of jazz for curious newcomers and aficionados alike.
For her Melbourne International Jazz Festival debut, Peyroux will lend her languid, elegant, sensuous voice to her own original pieces and masterful interpretations of songs from artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Randy Newman and Ray Charles, bringing the 2018 Festival to an unforgettable close.
