9th February 2019 Mornington Peninsula Blues Fest 2019
The inaugural Mornington Peninsula Blues fest organised by Patrick Elliget, (Director at Mornington Peninsula Blues Events Pty Ltd) at the Mornington Race Course was a roaring success in spite of the strong winds and pelting rain that preceded the opening. As the day wore on, the rain abated and there were occasional bursts of bright sunshine, well and truly – four seasons in the day! It was not what the organisers hoped for, that also kept those with paid tickets, away.
This inaugural Festival kicked off with Rob Papp and the Brothers in Blues, followed by Rod Paine and the Fulltime Lovers, Sweet Felicia and the Honeytones, Geoff Achison and the Souldiggers, LLoyd Spiegel, Phil Manning with the Chris Finnen Band, Claude Hay and to close this fantastic event; Ross Wilson and the Peaceniks
For those diehard fans who turned up in spite of the inclement weather, it was a privilege to hear the cream of the Australian Blues Music Scene.
Thanks to John Durr for the Tickets received at the MBAs awards night, a very good reason to wait out the rain in the car watching the weather radar that showed there were patches of good weather coming up and a good reason to stay, although I missed the first few minutes of the opening of the event and had to leave before Ross Wilson came on stage.
Few Pics of the event – more pics in the days to come and posted at https://kevin-peterson.smugmug.com/Jazz-/Other-Jazz-Events-/BLUES-Music-/Mornington-Peninsula-Inaugural-Blues-Fest-2019/Mornington-Peninsula-Blues-Fest-2019/
