Travelled to New York between 01/09/2011 and 12/09/2011, mainly to see the US Open 2011.
It was my first time in New York and by the time I had arrived, “Irene” had done whatever damage she could and headed North towards Boston and back to the sea where she came from. It was still windy at times.
Here are a few photos from the US Open where I also caught up with my daughter who was photographing the US Open for Tennis now. Courtesy via my daughter, from players and colleagues, I was able to go to more days than planned, reducing the days reserved for sight seeing New York. Then there were a rainy days that had the US open suspended for two days, pushing the games out of schedule with the men’s final being played on a Monday, the day I was leaving New York for California.
Most of the players I have featured on this page are the up and coming players of tomorrow, Junior girls and boys – not all of them, those that I was able to have a chat with, in between matches and practice sessions on the outside courts.
Hope the pics and videos speak for themselves, more will be uploaded in time. There may be limitations on what you can put on a page.
The bloggs may be a bit disjointed. I thought I would have the time to do one everyday, but every waking minute was spent doing the things I wanted to do, and at the end of the day, the most important thing to do was to hit the bed!
Signature photo, everyone who visits must have a photo taken at New York’s Times Square.
