Arrived in Los Angeles from New York on the 12th September 2012, stayed overnight in LA.
The Boxster that would take me to the Yucca Valley the next morning could not take my suitcase and so had to leave all my clothes behind at a friends place and take the bare neccessities for the 5 day stay in Yucca Valley about a two and a half hours drive.
On the way we made a detour to Idyllwild, about 12000 ft above sea level, for a cup of coffee and idyllic views! The views of the Morongo Valley and its sea of windmill power generators from the winding road up to Idlywild was nothing short of spectacular. I can well imagine what it would be like in Winter.
The place I stayed in at Yucca Valley had a fantastic view of the mountains around dotted with Joshua trees everywhere and anywhere you cast your eye.
Here are a couple of photos of the sunrise at Yucca Valley with the Josua Tree silhouetted against the morning sun.
To be continued…
